SBI Assists in Homicide Investigation

Thursday April 26, 2018

As the Utah Department of Public Safety we serve as a resource for law enforcement agencies across the state of Utah. From our Utah Highway Patrol troopers assisting at accident scenes to our agents with the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) who provide assistance when called upon by local law enforcement agencies. Whether it is evidence gathering at a crime scene, investigative assistance or the use of 3-D imaging via the FARO Scanner, are agents provide valuable help.

Most recently, SBI agents from our major crimes unit were called by the Tremonton City Police Department during a homicide investigation. There they assisted Tremonton Police with evidence gathering and utilized the FARO Scanner.

“Officers from your agency responded and provided valuable assistance,” said Tremonton Police Chief David Nance in a letter to SBI. “Your cooperation was essential in the investigation of this case. We appreciate the strong working relationship that we enjoy with your agency.”

Our Department appreciates the partnership with departments from southern Utah to northern Utah. Here is the letter from Chief Nance to our Department: Tremonton thanks
