New Feature: Live Chat with a Driver License Agent

Tuesday October 24, 2017

The Driver License Division has began live chats with the public on their website.  The division takes an average of 1,300 calls daily. Now, the public has a new option of communicating with driver license representatives. Instead of calling into the call center, the public can now chat live with one of our agents. For now, the chat is only open Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 12:00 p.m. As it picks up in popularity hours are expected to extend to normal business hours. A total of five employees are assigned to answer chat questions as they come in.

“Our employees are enjoying being able to assist the public in another forum,” said Britani Flores, Driver License Records Manager. “The feedback from the public has been very positive.”

The feature has made services more efficient because of how easy it is to use for both the public and employees, said Flores.

During the current chat hours, customers can find the live chat option on the left side of any driver license website pages. A tab with “Live Chat” will appear on their screen.  At that point the customer will be connected to a live agent who can assist them.
