Wrong way driver successfully intercepted by Davis County Trooper

Initial Description:

Salt Lake Dispatch put out a call of a wrong way driver near the Davis and Salt Lake County line. A Trooper, who was listening to both Davis and Salt Lake County dispatch advised Davis Dispatch that there was a wrong way driver in the county. A Davis County Trooper responded from the Centerville area, and coordinated with Centerville Police Department to close the freeway. The Davis Trooper located the wrong way vehicle near 2600 South in Woods Cross, and he was able to disable the vehicle with a modified PIT maneuver. Woods Cross and North Salt Lake police responded and took over the investigation. The driver of the wrong way was placed under arrest for DUI, and was an alcohol restricted driver. The Trooper that diabled the wrong way driver’s/DUI suspect’s vehicle was transported to Lakeview Hospital with minor injuries. The suspect was also transported to Lakeview Hospital with minor injuries.
