Wrong-way driver stopped by Kaysville Officer.

Friday April 15, 2022

On Friday, April 15, 2022, at about 2:14 am, Troopers were alerted by dispatch of a wrong-way vehicle that was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on I-15. First reports of this vehicle started at about 600 N. in Salt Lake City. One of our Troopers located the maroon Ford Focus near Parish lane and attempted to clip the vehicle in order to stop it. The attempt was unsuccessful when the Trooper missed the attempt. As the vehicle continued northbound, a Kaysville officer located the vehicle in the Farmington area still traveling the wrong way. The Kaysville officer collided with the Ford bringing it to a stop. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. For full details on the Kaysville officers incident and his condition, please contact Kaysville PD. The Utah Highway Patrol conducted an accident investigation into the incident as well as a DUI investigation on the driver. The 36-year-old male driver was placed under arrest for DUI and driving the wrong way on the freeway.
