Wrong-way driver is killed in SR-201 crash. (Photos)

Sunday June 12, 2022

On Sunday, June 12, 2022, at approximately 01:09 hrs, dispatch received reports near 3400 West SR-201 westbound of a wrong-way vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes that crashed head-on into another vehicle. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, a silver Chevy Malibu, was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced deceased upon arrival. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a gray Ford Ecosport, was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Alcohol impairment is being investigated in the case of the wrong-way vehicle. Westbound SR-201 was closed for several hours during the investigation.
