Weber County Impaired Driver Turns Wrong-way

Wednesday December 13, 2023

On Saturday, December 9, 2023, at about 1:50 am, a Trooper observed a Chevy passenger car at a high rate of speed northbound on I-15. The Trooper attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle did not stop and exited at 31st Street. It got back on the northbound on-ramp to I-15 but then turned around and was driving wrong way on the ramps left shoulder. The Trooper observed the wrong-way vehicle and hit the driver side rear of the vehicle. The vehicle became disabled and the driver was taken into custody. There were 3 other adult males in the vehicle. They sustained minor injuries. The Trooper sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The Weber County Sherriff’s office investigated the collision. Troopers conducted a DUI investigation and arrested the driver along with additional charges.
