Tuesday February 20, 2018

Storm totals from 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 18 to 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 20:

Utah and Salt Lake Counties: 552

Davis County: 65

Weber County: 65

Combined total of 682

*No fatalities or major injuries

Four UHP trooper patrol cars hit

One UDOT IMT unit hit

The dash cam video below shows UHP Sgt. Schrader in his patrol car and Sgt. Powell as he is setting up traffic control for the previous crash that hit Sgt. Schrader. As Sgt. Powell is setting up, a second vehicle slides out of control towards him. Luckily, Sgt. Powell was able to run out of the way and was not injured. Both vehicles in the video hit Sgt. Schrader’s patrol car within minutes in the exact same location (S.R. 89 at the southbound ramp to I-15).  The dash cam video was recorded from Sgt. Powell’s car. We want to remind drivers to please slow down, increase your following distance and move over for emergency vehicles.
