Utah is 2018’s 4th Safest State in America

According to a recent study by WalletHub, Utah was ranked as the 4th safest state in the United States. In order to help families find the most secure places to settle down, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 48 key metrics. The data set ranges from assaults per capita to unemployment rate to total loss amounts from climate disasters per capita.

Safety in Utah (1=Safest; 25=Avg.)

  • 9th – Murders & Non-Negligent Manslaughters per Capita
  • 10th – Assaults per Capita
  • 4th – Loss Amounts from Climate Disasters per Capita
  • 2nd – Job Security
  • 15th – Fatal Occupational Injuries per 100,000 Full-Time Workers
  • 9th – Fatalities per 100 Million Vehicle Miles of Travel
  • 27th  Bullying Incidence Rate
  • 23rd  Sex Offenders per Capita
