Utah Highway Patrol Appoints New Public Information Officer

Thursday August 2, 2018

The Utah Department of Public Safety has named Sgt. Nick Street as the new public information officer for the Utah Highway Patrol.  Sgt. Street takes over the duties of Lt. Todd Royce who served in the position for five years. Sgt. Street will serve as the primary contact for all Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) media requests including incidents and events.

Sgt. Street is a seven year veteran of the Utah Highway Patrol and comes to the position from our Davis County section office where he served as field sergeant. He has been an active member of our Department including roles in the State Bureau of Investigation, the UHP DUI squad, the Bureau of Criminal Identification and DPS’ Public Protection Unit. Sgt. Street is also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. We look forward to having Sgt. Street part of the Department of Public Safety’s Public Affairs Office.

We want to thank Lt. Royce for his hard work, service and dedication. He has been instrumental in the development of public information for our Department. We wish him the best in his new endeavors as he transitions to his new position at the Department of Natural Resources.
