Two Women Wanted for Questioning in the Deaths of Two Idaho Infants Arrested in Box Elder County
On October 18th, 2018, at around noon, Utah Highway Patrol Troopers received word that Detectives in Cache County had located two individuals in a silver Chevrolet Cruze (Haley Miller and Sylvia Tapia) both wanted for questioning in a Twin Falls, Idaho death investigation. The individuals had been previously flagged by Utah’s Statewide Information & Analysis Center (SIAC). The SIAC issued a message for Utah Law Enforcement Officers to attempt to locate Miller and Tapia. Cache County Detectives located and were following the subjects through Sardine Canyon in an unmarked car. Troopers responded to 1100 South Main in Brigham City to assist. As the suspects turned south on SR-89 in Perry, the Detectives and Troopers set up a high risk stop. After which, the suspects were taken into custody without incident. Miller and Tapia have been booked into the Box Elder County Jail on a Methamphetamine Trafficking warrant and are awaiting extradition back to Idaho where they will also be questioned regarding the October 12th, 2018 suspicious death of two infant twin boys.
Updated: An early version of this release incorrectly stated that they were booked on a homicide warrant. The two are only wanted for questioning in the deaths of the two twin boys in Twin Falls, they are not considered suspects at this time. However, they are suspects in a meth trafficking investigation related to the suspicious death investigation.
