Troopers and Officers to reward Nebo School District Students who buckle up with candy canes – Media Advisory

To spread holiday cheer and encourage teen drivers to buckle up, Troopers and Officers will be rewarding those that buckle up with candy canes.

WHAT: Troopers, local agencies and Nebo School District Student Body Officers alongside school staff will be reminding students about the importance of wearing seat belts over the holiday season. 5000 donated candy canes will be handed out to those buckling up as they depart Nebo School District High Schools’ parking lots.

WHEN: Thursday, December 13th from 1:00pm-3:00pm

WHERE: A media briefing will be held at 1:00pm at the Nebo School District office located at 350 South Main St. Spanish Fork, Utah.
From there: Troopers and local area LEOs will travel to the five different high schools in the Nebo District:
– Spanish Fork High: 99 West 300 West Spanish Fork, Utah.- Springville High: 1205 East 900 South Springville, Utah.- Maple Mountain High: 51 North 2550 East Spanish Fork, Utah.- Salem Hills High: 150 North Skyhawk Blvd Salem, Utah.- Payson High School 1050 South Main St, Payson, Utah

Members of the media will be able to partner up with Law Enforcement Officers during the event when candy canes will be handed out as students leave the schools’ respective parking lots from 2:20pm to 3:00pm The opportunity to interview student body officers at each school will be available from 1:45 pm to 2:20 pm.
