Tooele County Fatal Crash

Tuesday April 5, 2022

At 8:44 PM on 4/4/2022, Tooele County Dispatch received a call about a disabled vehicle on westbound I-80 at mile marker 5. The vehicle was reported as a dark colored passenger vehicle partially blocking the right lane without any lights on. A few seconds later, dispatch received a call of a semi rollover in that same area. Troopers arrived on scene a few minutes later and found the semi had struck the passenger vehicle and subsequently rolled over. Troopers found the male driver of the passenger vehicle outside of the vehicle and rendered aid, however, medical personnel later declared the individual deceased on scene. Westbound I-80 was temporarily shut down while Troopers conducted their investigation.
