Buckle Face Heroes Help Highway Patrol Improve
Seat Belt Use in Utah
Click it or Ticket enforcement happening Nov. 27 – Dec. 1, 2019
WHAT:
Media are invited to sit back, relax and kick off Click it or Ticket with the Utah Highway Patrol by sharing the Department of Public Safety’s humorous Buckle Face campaign. Media are invited to Cinemark Theaters in Sugarhouse where experts will review the current landscape of seat belt use before premiering the five ad spots on the big screen. UHP will utilize the Buckle Face Campaign into next year and is crowdsourcing the next Buckle Face Hero on their website.
Local research discovered Utahns who resist buckling up were more likely to consume safety messaging through the lens of humor. This holiday season’s Click it or Ticket Campaign aims at doing just that to help save lives.
Nov. 27 begins the increased seat belt enforcement period, ending on Dec. 1. During this time, law enforcement officers from over 40 agencies throughout Utah will be working over 330 overtime shifts to stop and educate motorists who aren’t wearing a seat belt. The enforcement period is strategically planned to begin right before the Holiday Season, as more drivers are on the road and are driving longer distances during this time of year.
