Summit County Fleeing Motorcycles

On 6-23-21, at approximately 20:22 hours, dispatch aired an attempt to locate on 7 bullet bikers traveling at speeds in excess of 150 mph weaving in and out of traffic eastbound on Interstate 80 traveling into Summit County from Salt lake County. Trooper located the bikers traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 near milepost 143. They were spread across all 3 lanes of travel. The bikes were still traveling at 82mph in a 65 mph zone. Troopers also observed 2 of the bikes had back passengers. The trooper exited the median to get the bikes stopped. As soon as he exited the median, he heard and saw 4 of the 7 bikes accelerate very quickly and take off immediately at speeds greater than 100 mph. He activated my lights and sirens and began to pursue the 4 bikes. The troopers visual estimation on the bikes were in excess of 150 mph. He lost visual of the bikes terminated the pursuit. Summit County Sheriff’s located the bike and also attempted to stop them but terminated shortly after when they also lost sight of them. Troopers located the bikes near Coalville continuing eastbound. After several attempts to stop the bikes, Troopers apprehended one driver near the Salt Lake / Morgan County line on SR-65.
