Summit County Fatal Crash
On 03/20/2022 at approximately 11:01 pm, a 2006 GMC Sierra was located off the roadway of SR 248 near milepost 2 heading westbound into Park City. The vehicle had struck the guardrail off the right-hand shoulder of the roadway before swerving off the roadway to the left. The Sierra then struck the guardrail on the south side of SR 248 before traveling down an embankment coming to rest in a marsh. A single unrestrained female occupant was located in the driver’s seat. The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol was located inside the vehicle, and impairment is suspected as a contributing factor.
