SR-201 Pedestrian Incident (Updated)

On Thursday, March 7, 2024, at approximately 6:30 pm Troopers were dispatched to reports of a pedestrian on SR-201 near Bangerter Highway. Troopers located the individual and gave him a ride to a safe location off of SR-201 to a gas station on 5600 west without incident.

Later in the evening, at about 8:37 pm, Salt Lake area Troopers responded to reports of an auto pedestrian crash in the area of 6300 West, SR-201 eastbound. When Trooper’s arrived on scene and located a male subject making suicidal actions with several self-inflicted knife wounds. The subject was later identified as the same individual they had shuttled off of SR-201 earlier that evening.

The subject was transported to an area hospital in serious medical and mental health condition.
