Northbound SR-16 Fatal

Monday July 11, 2022

On July 10, 2022, at 1742 hours, A 21-year-old male was traveling northbound on SR-16. At this location, there are two lanes, one lane northbound and one lane southbound. The driver of the vehicle moved into the southbound lane to pass a car in front of him. At this time there was a vehicle traveling southbound in the southbound lane. The male driver swerved back into the northbound lane to avoid a head-on collision. The male driver lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road to the right.  The vehicle rolled and the driver was ejected and sustained fatal injuries at the scene. 

The male driver was identified as Martinez Macrino age 21.
