Single vehicle fatal crash in Orem (Updated 9/9/21)

Tuesday September 7, 2021

On Tuesday September 7, 2021 at about 5:53 am, a Chevy truck was traveling north on I-15 in the area of MM272. It appears the driver of the vehicle steered through the gore area for the northbound exit 273 off-ramp but lost control and hit the concrete barrier on the right shoulder of the ramp. The driver of the truck was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected in the collision. There were no other occupants in the vehicle. The Chevy continued down the barrier for several hundred feet before coming to a stop in the emergency lane. The adult male driver sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Intermitten lane closures were in place during the investigation and cleanup of the scene.
