Semi Crash I-15 milepost 71

Tuesday August 3, 2021

This morning at approximately 6:30 A.M., a semi truck was heading northbound on I-15 at milepost 71. A witness stated the semi veered off the road to the left and struck the barrier. The semi truck launched over the barrier and landed on the road going underneath the freeway. The driver of the semi was wearing is seatbelt and was able to climb out of the cab before it became fully engulfed, he sustained serious injuries.

The semi truck was hauling general products. Northbound and southbound lanes of I-15 were closed for a period of time and have since opened, Summit Center Street (east and west) will be closed until this afternoon for clean up.
