Road rage incident results in shots fired in Salt Lake County.

Monday December 6, 2021

On December 5, 2021, at approximately 11:58 p.m., two vehicles traveling eastbound on SR-201 near 3800 West were involved in a road rage incident. During the incident, both vehicles sideswiped each other before one vehicle was shot at multiple times. The victim’s vehicle was occupied by an adult male driver, an adult female passenger, and an infant female passenger. The male was struck by shrapnel but is in good condition and was not transported by medical. One round struck the rear passenger side door where the infant was seated but remarkably the child was not injured. The suspect vehicle is described as a late 90’s Jeep Grand Cherokee silver or white in color with damage to the driver side and unknown Utah plates last seen traveling eastbound on SR-201 from 3200 West. Suspect description is unknown and the suspect vehicle’s location is currently unknown. The Utah State Bureau of Investigation is responding to assist.
