Joint Op with SLCPD, West Valley and Murray Police

In March, the Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD), Murray Police, West Valley Police along with Adult Probation and Parole (AP&P), conducted an operation that focused on the Rio Grande district over a one-day period. During that time officers made more than two-dozen arrests and made contact with business owners in the area to discuss ongoing issues and resolutions.

Working closely with partner agencies like SLCPD, Operation Rio Grande officers were able to conduct this operation in criminal hot spots related to dispersion. Most of the arrests were distribution related arrests. Below is a further breakdown of numbers during this one day period:

Total arrests: 27 drug distribution related

As a result of this operation, DPS agents served 2 resident search warrants.

This investigation is a result of intelligence gathered from Operation Rio Grande. This is still an active investigation.
