Tuesday January 23, 2024

On Friday, January 19, 2024, at approximately 7:29 pm, a Green Saturn passenger car was traveling wrong-way on Interstate 70, Eastbound in the Westbound lanes of travel from approximately milepost 31 to milepost 33. At milepost 33 the Saturn struck a Toyota 4-runner that was traveling Westbound in a glancing head on collision. This caused the Saturn to bounce into the travel lane of a semi truck that was also traveling Westbound and they collided. The 54-year-old female driver, and only occupant of the Saturn, was killed on impact, the occupants of the semi truck and the Toyota suffered minor injuries.

Lane closures affected I-70 for about 4 1/2 hours.
