Fleeing Vehicle in Salt Lake County
On September 24, 2022 about 10:26 PM a UHP Trooper attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle on I-15 south bound near 12300 South. The vehicle fled as the trooper approached the vehicle. The suspect vehicle crashed a short time later. Three additional vehicles were involved in that crash. Two individuals, a male and female, exited the vehicle and ran from the area. Troopers and local law enforcement agencies set up containment in the area but were unable to locate the individuals. During the investigation and containment, Troopers closed the offramps at Bangerter Highway. Troopers determined the the vehicle that fled had been stolen days prior out of Sandy.
