Fatal US 40 MP 47
On Friday November 24, 2023, at approximately 4:39PM. A gray Dodge Ram occupied by one male (age 37) was eastbound on SR-40 near milepost 47. The roads were slick and icy. It appears the truck driver was traveling too fast for the conditions and lost control crossing into westbound lanes. A black Honda Accord occupied by a male driver (age 21) and female passenger (age 21) were traveling westbound and impacted the truck. The male driver of the Ram was deceased on the scene, as was the female passenger of the Accord. The male driver of the Accord was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
