Fatal crash on U.S. Hwy 40 at MM 131 (15 miles west of Vernal)

Initial Description: 
      A 2005 Chrysler Sebring was traveling westbound on US-40 at MM 131. A 2001 GMC Denali was traveling eastbound US-40. For an unknown reason, the driver of the Sebring crossed over the center median nearly perpendicular to the roadway and was struck by the Denali. The driver of the Sebring, Joshua Beasley, age 30, from Vernal, died on impact. The two male occupants of the Denali fled the scene of the crash on foot. They were quickly tracked down and apprehended by the Uintah County SO and Vernal PD. One of the occupants of the Denali has a $25,000 dollar warrant. After being evaluated by medical personnel, both are being booked into jail. They are being booked on charges of leaving the scene of an injury/fatal crash.
