Fatal Crash on SR-89 in Sanpete County

Friday September 22, 2017

On Saturday, 9/16/2017, at 5:10 am, a GMC pick-up truck, was traveling northbound on SR-89 near mile marker 296, near the city of Fairview. There was heavy fog in the area and visibility was low. A deceased black cow was in the roadway. The truck, driven by 60-year-old Randall Hill, from Fairview, (Mr. Hill was the only occupant) hit the cow, which cause him to lose control of the truck. The truck ran off the road to the left and rolled. The truck rolled over a fence and into a power pole. Mr. Hill was not wearing his seatbelt and was partially ejected. He suffered fatal injuries from the crash and died on scene.
