Fatal crash in Cache County

Thursday September 22, 2022

Update 9/22/22 1:30 pm

At about 6:16 am, a black Ford F-150 was southbound on US 89/91.  The Ford drifted into northbound traffic lanes side swiping a silver Chevy Equinox.  As the Chevy was rotating, it was struck by a white Jeep Wrangler in a T-bone fashion. The Ford continued into northbound traffic and struck a silver Kia Seltos and a red Ford Focus (fatal).  A white Dodge Ram Promaster then hit the Kia (timing still under invest.) The 32-year- old make driver of the Ford Focus sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

US-89/91 reopen at abou 11:30 am

Early this morning, Thursday, September 22, 2022, Troopers responded to a multi-car crash on US-89/91 at about 3700 South. The crash is initially reported to involve 6 or 7 vehicles and is blocking both directions of travel. One fatality has been reported, and another party was transported in critical condition.

US-89/91 will be closed for approximately 2 to 3 hours while crews work to investigate this incident and clear the roadway. Due to the high volume of traffic on this roadway, people are encouraged to plan alternate routes such as SR-23 North to SR-30 East into Logan. Or SR-101 East to SR-165 North to Logan.

As more information becomes available, this page will be updated.
