Fatal Crash at 12000 South I-15 Southbound

Friday November 5, 2021

On November 05, 2021 at 1834 hours, a Yamaha motorcycle operated by a male driver was traveling recklessly southbound I-15 at approximately 12000 South. Multiple reports were made that the motorcycle changed lanes into the HOV lane where he didn’t slow in time and struck the rear end of a Toyota Prius. Troopers arrived on scene and found the injuries to the motorcycle operator to be non-survivable. The Prius had four teenage occupants which were all uninjured. The HOV lane as well as lane one and two will be shut down until approximately 2200 hours while Troopers investigate the crash scene.

The deceased driver is Michael Rogers, age 42, of Lehi, UT.
