Fatal Accident I-15 southbound 15000 South

Sunday July 24, 2022

On July 24, 2022, at approximately 1:09 am, a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling in the high occupancy lane southbound on I-15 in the area of 15000 South near Draper, UT. A Tesla was behind the motorcycle, and the driver advised he had the auto-pilot setting on. The driver of the Tesla did not see the motorcyclist and collided with the back of the motorcycle, which threw the rider from the bike. The Harley rider sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the Tesla was not injured

Lane restrictions of I-15 southbound were in place during the on-scene investigation that lasted several hours. This crash is still currently under investigation.
