Double Fatal Crash at 900 South I-15 Northbound (Updated 3/14/2022)

At approximately 4:52 AM, Dispatch received reports of a white hatchback entering I-15 northbound from the 600 South off-ramp traveling the wrong direction, southbound in the northbound lanes. At 4:54 AM, we received reports of a head-on collision between a blue FJ Cruiser and the white hatchback near 900 South on I-15 northbound.

The driver and sole occupant of the FJ Cruiser was unrestrained and was deceased upon our arrival. The driver and sole occupant of the white hatchback was wearing their seat belt but was also deceased upon our arrival.

Impairment is being investigated of the driver of the white hatchback. The names of the deceased won’t be released pending notification of family.

MCIT and SBI have both been notified and are assisting in the investigation.

*** Driver (Fatal) Blue FJ Cruiser: Martin Salazar of Taylorsville (59) of Taylorsville.
