Tuesday June 8, 2021

On Monday, June 7, 2021, at about 5:20 pm, a red Ford F350 was northbound on US-189 near milepost 27. The F350 rear-ended a gray 4 door Jeep Wrangler, sending it into southbound traffic. The Jeep rotated and was struck in the passenger door by a southbound white Chevy Trailblazer. The flames from the Jeep extended to the Trailblazer. An adjacent also field caught fire. The solo female driver of the Jeep, and both female occupants of the Trailblazer died on scene. The male driver of the Ford F350 had minor injuries that were treated on-scene. The two occupants of the Ford Escape were not injured. The roadway was closed for approximately 5 hours while crews worked the scene.
