Commissioner Squires Speaks at National Cyber Conference

Thursday April 19, 2018

This week Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Keith Squires will be in San Francisco, California for the 2018 RSA Conference. RSA brings the world’s top experts in cybersecurity together. There, Commissioner Squries will participate in a panel discussion on ‘Emerging Strategic and Structural Trends in State Cybersecurity’.

Other panelist include Timothy Blute with the National Governors Association, Thomas MacLellan with Symantec and Mark Michie with the Wisconsin National Guard.

Many states have enhanced their cybersecurity posture by making significant changes to policies and practices.  One of the recent successful stories of a state developing capabilities on cybercrime is in Utah. Commissioner Squires worked with the FBI on Operation Wellspring and has been active over the past half-decade in maturing the cybercrime capabilities at the state level. This has led to a comprehensive partnership with the FBI Salt Lake City field office.

RSA Conference’s mission is to connect people and insights that will empower everyone to stay ahead of cyberthreats.
