BYU Police Notice of Intent to Decertify, Investigation & Public Records

Tuesday February 26, 2019

The Utah Department of Public Safety has issued a notice of intent to decertify Brigham Young University (BYU) Police. Commissioner Jess L. Anderson has sent a letter of notice to police and university administration under Utah Administrative Code Rule 698-4-5.

Below are the two documents available to the public. The first letter was issued to BYU Police on January 3, 2019. The second letter was issued to BYU administration on February 20, 2019. All media inquiries should be directed to Marissa Cote, DPS public affairs director.
