Fatal Crash on I-70 (Updated 8/10/21)

On Saturday, 8/7/2021 a black Dodge Durango was traveling West on I-70 near MP 54. The Dodge was in the right lane when for an unknown reason the driver turned sharply to the right and went off the road. Once off the road the vehicle rolled multiple times. The driver was wearing a seat belt but died on scene due to her injuries. The adult male passenger was able to get up to the interstate and waved traffic down. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition. Investigators are still working to determining what time the crash occurred. The passenger stated that he was there for quite a while but he was not certain. Impairment is being investigated as a possible contributor in the crash.
