Fatal Crash on I-15 NB to I-80 WB near 500 S in Salt Lake City

Wednesday February 17, 2021

On February 17, 2021, at 2:42 pm, the female driver of a white Mercedes SUV was traveling northbound on I-15 at 500 South and the I-80 westbound on-ramp with a male passenger and two children restrained by child restraints in the back seat. The driver of the SUV merged from the far left lane on I-15 and attempted to exit onto the I-80 westbound connecting ramp. In doing so, the driver of the vehicle lost control and rolled at least twice. The SUV came to rest on the 500 south on-ramp to I-80 westbound. The female driver was ejected from the SUV’s sun roof and came to rest after falling roughly 30 feet from the raised freeway structure. She later died from injuries sustained in the crash and subsequent fall. The male passenger and two children in the back seat were transported to the hospital as a precaution, but appeared to be uninjured in the crash.

The deceased driver of the Mercedes is Maikel A Enoch, age 24, of Salt Lake City.
