Fatal crash near milepost 62 on I-15

Initial Description:

        Vehicle no.1 was a 1993 Toyota 4- Runner. The driver of vehicle no.1 was driving south on I-15 near milepost 62.  There was a three year-old child sitting on the rear seat who wasn’t properly restrained in a child restraint. This child was only wearing a regular lap belt.  The child started to cry and the driver reached around to give the child a bottle. While doing this the vehicle drifted onto the right shoulder. The driver attempted to correct the vehicle and the Toyota traveled back across the roadway and collided with the guardrail.  The vehicle then rolled. The child was ejected from the vehicle onto the roadway, causing fatal injuries. The female passenger was seriously injured and transported to Dixie Regional Hospital. The driver sustained minor injuries. Both the driver and female passenger were wearing their seat belts.
