I-80 Fatal Motorcycle Crash (Updated 6/25/24)

Monday June 24, 2024

On Monday, June 24, 2024, at approximately 9:34 am, three motorcycles were traveling eastbound I-80 at MM 111 (7100 west).   One of the riders, 54-year-old male from Texas, locked up the rear brake on the bike due to slower traffic and laid it down.  The rider was thrown from the Harley motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical crews.  The Harley rider was wearing a helmet. Eastbound I-80 was closed at 7200 west but traffic is being allowed to get back onto the freeway with the on-ramp to bypass the scene.
