Crash Responder Safety Week Press Event

For Immediate Release:

First responders are united nationwide to share a message on crash scene safety.   

November 8 – 14, 2021 is national “Crash Responder Safety Week”.   Police, fire, EMS, transportation, and tow providers across the country will share a united message to help not only the public safe, but crash responders as well.  Over the last two years, Utah has seen a stunning spike in deadly crashes.  Responding to these types of incidents can be extremely dangerous and at times deadly.   Together, crash responders and the public can work to reverse these dangerous trends and help to save lives on Utah’s roadways.

Over the next week, Utah crash responders will be sharing a sustained message on what the public can do to keep themselves safe when traveling around crashes on freeway and surface streets.  Messages will also focus on what everyone can do to make situations safer for those who have to respond to handle these incidents.  To draw awareness to these dangers, below is a breakdown of who will provide messages each day, Monday through Friday.  Participating agencies will each take a day during the next week to share insights and education from their profession’s perspective.  Material may include: social media posts, educational videos, enforcement, ride-alongs, stats and data, press events, etc.  Please contact the respective agency blow for more details on their messaging day.
