Details of Fatal Crash in Iron County (Updated 9/20/21)

Monday September 13, 2021

On September 12, 2021 at approximately 06:59 hours Troopers responded to a single vehicle rollover in the area of milepost 71, I-15 southbound. A Toyota Tundra occupied by two males (father and adult son) drifted off the left side of the roadway, corrected back to the right and rolled off the west side of the interstate.  The pickup truck came to rest between I-15 and Old Highway 91, and was not visible by passing motorists until daylight. The driver (father) was not extremely coherent, but told first responders they had been there since around 02:00 hours. The passenger (son) sustained fatal injuries and was deceased when first responders arrived. The driver was transported in serious condition.  The investigation had minimal impact on freeway traffic. Minor lane restrictions ans slow downs were used to complete the investigation. MCIT SBI and DPS Victim’s Advocates have been notified.

Toyota Passenger (Fatal): Brandon G Bangerter Age: 41 From: St. George, UT

The driver passed away at the hospital on Thursday September 16th.

Toyota Driver (Fatal): Garrett  Bangerter Age: 66 From: St. George, UT
