DPS “Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over” enforcement now through Labor Day weekend

Parents of daughter killed by impaired driver make a plea to never drive under the influence

WHAT: 

Media are invited to interview Devin and Kara Shaw, parents of crash victim Kathrynn Shaw. Kathrynn was days away from graduating high school when an impaired driver ran through a stop sign and struck the car Kathrynn was traveling in. She was rushed to the hospital and passed away a few hours later. The Shaws want to share their experience, hoping their message will urge even just one person to avoid driving impaired. 

Law enforcement is working extra shifts now through September 6, actively patrolling for impaired drivers. The Utah Department of Public Safety will also speak on the nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, aimed at encouraging drivers to always choose a sober ride. The campaign focuses on the reality of drinking and driving with the theme “Every Sip Has A Consequence.”
