20-Year-Old Male Driver Dies in Off-Ramp Crash on 11400 South I-15

Thursday April 13, 2023

[Sandy, UT] – On Thursday, April 13, 2023, at about 5:48 am, a tragic incident occurred on the 11400 South I-15 northbound off-ramp. A silver Subaru WRX, driven by a 20-year-old male, was taking the off-ramp when it drifted into the center gore area and struck the crash cushion with the front of the vehicle.

Despite responders’ best efforts, the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. He was pronounced deceased by fire personnel upon their arrival.

During the investigation and clean-up, the off-ramp was closed for approximately 3 hours.

Authorities are urging all drivers to remember the importance of wearing a seatbelt, as it can greatly reduce the risk of injury or death in the event of a crash.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the driver during this difficult time.
