Operation Wellspring – Decrease Your Risk of a Cyber Attack

Monday May 15, 2017

Cyber-crime is on everyone’s minds today after this weekend’s worldwide ransomware attacks. While Utah was not hit specifically during this weekend’s strikes, we do see ransomware hitting Utah families and businesses on a regular basis. The victims we serve always wish they’d taken preventative steps to decrease their risk. These include: always conduct the updates on your computer, train family or staff to avoid phishing scams and clicking on bad links, and back up important documents, so ransomware cannot hold your valuable files hostage.

For more information on how the Utah Department of Public Safety works with local and federal partners to arrest these cyber criminals, please watch this video highlight Operation Wellspring.
