DPS Celebrates Forensic Science Week

Monday September 18, 2017

In recognition of the important role that forensic science plays in the investigation of crimes throughout the nation, from exonerating the innocent to identifying the guilty, the Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) would like to recognize the scientific and technical professionals that serve our communities in this vital role.  This week is nationally recognized 7 as the Annual National Forensic Science Week.

DPS’ state crime lab is holding media tours throughout the week to give state workers and community members a peek inside the new crime lab. The crime lab opened its doors in February 2017. On September 18, media was invited to view some of the latest technology the lab has acquired.
